Best 27 inch 144hz Gaming Monitors Reviewed 2024

Looking for the best 27 inch 144hz gaming monitor? Okay, you’re a few minutes away from the right answer!

What do you need for a 27-inch WQHD monitor with 144 Hz? For one thing, the desire to play games, but that’s why you’re here. Then you only need a suitable computer, because there is no fast image resolution in 1440p with the old Windows XP box. Otherwise you can start in a high resolution and fast picture sequences.

If your choice falls on the model with a screen diagonal more than 27 inches, you should definitely take a monitor with a resolution of at least Quad HD 2560×1440. Modern graphics cards, if necessary, will be able to process the image in this resolution.

If you have taken care of a powerful graphics card and other PC components, then you should buy a monitor with a refresh rate of at least 120 Hz, and if possible even higher (144, 165 or 240 Hz).

It’s worth noting that in my review the monitors are both 144Hz or higher, so don’t be surprised that I took the liberty of adding some great 27″ monitors at 165Hz to the review as well. In my opinion, this review of the best gaming monitors in this category will only benefit you.

For whom is a 27-inch monitor with a WQHD/QHD resolution along with 144Hz or more useful?

Monitors are getting bigger, so a 27-inch monitor makes sense as well. However, at 27 inches and a Full HD resolution, the pixel density becomes too low, which makes the picture blurry again.

Therefore, the WQHD resolution is the best choice here. A 4K resolution is also possible, but for gaming, this resolution is partly too demanding for many gaming PCs, unless you have a high-end graphics card.

Previously, 144Hz would only be possible with Full HD, but now it works with larger monitors and more pixels.

A device of this type with 144Hz is for demanding gamers who also want to see details better in fast sequences. Technologies like G-Sync or FreeSync come in handy.

Personally, I prefer displays with IPS panels or at least VA panels, since they provide better image and color reproduction than TN panels. A good color quality is great for colorful gaming worlds, even if it’s not only about speed.

I also find a VA or IPS panel much more suitable for everyday use, e.g. for viewing or editing pictures or videos.

I’m sure you’ve now decided which 27″ 144Hz monitor is best for you, which means I can breathe easy 👍🏿
